Join the Club!! Welcome to the Inaugural Meeting of the Urban Sake Tasting Club! The purpose of this club is to have regular get-togethers to taste, discuss, appreciate and learn about Japanese sake in a relaxed, fun environment.

Absolutely no prior knowledge of sake is required and beginners very welcome! Each meeting will have a theme to allow us to learn something new but still have a great time enjoying sake together.

Sake Samurai and Nihonshu expert Timothy Sullivan will be on hand to answer any and all questions you have about Japanese sake! This is your chance to relax and have an expert guide you through your sake flight!

Our first club tasting event will be held Oct 8th from 6:30-8:30 at Sakagura Restaurant. We’ll focus this month on tasting three fantastic Genshu Sakes. Genshu sake is an undiluted type of sake that is higher in alcohol and bigger in personality. Just for kicks, we’ll even try one of the Genshu sakes on the rocks as well.

The Genshus for our tasting set are Jizake Tenzan Junmai Genshu, Narutotai Nama Genshu Ginjo and Born Muroka Nama Genshu Junmai Daiginjo.
