Mr. Gauntner will be on hand to answer questions, as will be five of Japan’s foremost sake brewers, flown in especially for the event.
John Gauntner is recognized as the world’s leading non-Japanese sake expert. Join Yusho as we launch his newest book, Sake Confidential, with an exclusive dinner and signing!
A longtime resident of Japan, John hails from Ohio, and is well known among sake brewers and others within the sake industry as the window to making sake popular outside of Japan. Fluent in Japanese, John wrote a column on the subject for Japan Times (Japan’s most widely read English language newspaper) for eight straight years.
John is the only non-Japanese national to have participated as an official taster in a prefectural government tasting, as well as the only non-national to provide regular sake-related consulting assistance in the form of lectures to the Government of Japan.
The “Original Sake Educator,” John has educated hundreds of sake professionals through his Sake Professional Courses. He has written five books and hundreds of articles on sake, making it easily understandable.
We’ll also have five of the foremost sake brewers visiting from Japan for the evening. They’ll be circulating throughout the night to offer tasting notions, and personal advice.
Join us! $75 for five sake-paired courses includes a complimentary signed copy of Sake Confidential. Only 50 seats are available.
