NYC: Japanese Culinary Center Hakkaisan Sake Event

Come join us at the Japanese Culinary Center for a unique visit to Hakkaisan Brewery.

Join Kumiko Kurosawa of Hakkaisan, Tim Sullivan of Urban Sake and George Kao of NY Mutual Trading as they bring various elements of Sake to this event.

Kumiko Kurosawa will speak briefly about her experiences in the sake business and pass the spotlight to Tim Sullivan who will take us through a Brewery Tour of Hakkaisan. Hakkaisan is located in Niigata Prefecture and is the most densely populated Sake region in Japan. Hakkaisan’s new state of the art facility brews an incredible amount of quality Japanese Sake that has caught the attention of sake fans all over the world.

Culinary Director George Kao will pair 4 different Sakes with flavors of the world.

Japanese Eggplant infused in Dashi Broth

Paired with Hakkaisan Junmai Ginjo

Second Course :

A variety of Charcuterie and Cheeses

Paired with Hakkaisan Genshu (Special bottle. Currently not available in the States)

Third Course :

Miso Marinated Pan Seared Foie Gras

Paired with Hakkaisan Tokubetsu Junmai

Fourth Course :

Chinese San-Bei Chicken

Paired with Hakkaisan Honjozo

**The Tasting Portion of the Event will demonstrate the dexterity of sake and the wide spectrum of foods it can pair with.

***All guests will take home a Hakkaisan DVD featuring the Brewery Tour.
