Tasting Notes

  1. LaMonte Heflick

    :

This is an earthy “special” (tokubetsu) junmai (pure rice) sake brewed in Akita a northern prefecture on the main island of Honshu. These folk are sturdy, working and dedicated. Famous for Akita Bijin (Beautiful ladies from Akita) 秋田美人, apples, nashi (Asian pears), and award winning sake. Enjoy this with local favorites -nabe and kiritampo. The taste of this brew screams mountains and waterfalls. Makes me want to visit Lake Towada. 乾杯
