Explore the world of Saké by joining us on November 10th from 7:00pm – 9:00pm for an evening of tasting and incredible Japanese cuisine at Okatshe.
Okatshe and Joto have teamed up to create an educational and unique culinary experience.
Start the evening with Sake specialist, Ryan Mellinger, as he expertly guides you through each type of Saké, it’s rich history, and how it is brewed (yes, brewed!).
Following the tasting, enjoy a 4-course dinner featuring Okatshe’s signature sushi rolls, 5-Spice Ribs, Chasu Buns, and a selection of yakitori including beef short ribs, scallops, and our mouth-watering Saké Glazed Wagyu sirloin.

About Ryan Mellinger
Ryan Mellinger is a Sake Specialist for Artisanal sake importer, Joto Sake. Inspired by her travels abroad and the tenacious culinary scene of her hometown, NYC, Ryan entered the industry by cooking in restaurants. She first experienced the beauty of sake at hotspot En Japanese Brasserie in the West Village. Since then Ryan has committed herself to educating those on the complexity of sake and it’s incredible versatility for pairings at the table, no matter what the kitchen. Based in NY, Ryan continues her travels and manages sake sales and education for Joto Sake in the Northeast and North Central U.S.. She is certified by WSET Sake Level 3.
Joto Sake LLC is the lead importer of artisanal Japanese sake in the U.S. Joto is Japanese for “highest level” and describes their multi-generational, family-owned sake breweries.
