Please join us on Wednesday, August 7th for a very special gathering at 3660 on the Rise. The Sake Shop along with World Sake Imports, will be hosting our fifth annual “Meet the Brewers” Sake Tasting Event that will feature Brewery Presidents and Master Brewers from EIGHT prestigious Japanese sake breweries!
These Brewery Presidents and Master Brewers will be here at the event, each stationed at their own table, pouring their own sake and answering your questions. We’ll be sampling at least 27 different premium sake (maybe more) from Dewazakura, Hoyo, Koshi no Kanbai, Masumi, Seitoku, Sohomare, Tamagawa and Tedorigawa sake breweries.
For you movie buffs, the President of Yoshida Sake Brewery, the makers of Tedorigawa sake, will be here to pour his sake. In 2015 Mr. Ryuichi Yoshida’s sake brewery and workers were showcased in a movie called The Birth of Sake.
The cost of the event is $70 and to keep things cozy and intimate we’ll be limiting the event to 80 people. This year we’re having it at 3660 on the Rise. They have a wonderful banquet facility along with a large lanai to spread out, relax and enjoy the evening.
Chef Russell Siu has come up with a wonderful sake-centric appetizer menu for your nibbling pleasure.
Pan Seared Scallop Cake with Crab Meat Tsukudani Aioli
Furikake Tempura Catfish, Ponzu Sauce
Fried Dashi Ginger Marinated Chicken
Harumaki (Shrimp & Pork Spring Rolls)
Baked Miso Glazed Eggplant, Yuzu Aioli
Teriyaki Chicken Quesadilla
Spicy Ahi Sushi
As in years prior, we’ve asked all of the Brewery Presidents to bring some “Sake Swag” for us to give away that night. Sake cups, towels and other sake logo items will be given out to guests via lucky number drawing. And it’s not confirmed this year but we’re hoping Miss Sake 2019 may stop by for a visit as well. Cross your fingers.
Good friends, good food and a lot of good premium sake. Sounds like we have all the makings of a very memorable event. So be sure to pick up your tickets at the shop quickly as we do expect a sell out event. Hope to see you there!
