Event Category: Sake Tastings
After Hurricane Maria’s path of destruction over the Island of Puerto Rico, the local Sake and restaurant community in NYC decided to join together, creating a night of music, food and drink to raise funds for those affected by the storm. In 2011, the fundraiser called “NY Loves Japan” brough the sake community together with huge success. It seemed only fitting to create another such event to benefit Puerto Rico and its residents.
“New York Loves Puerto Rico”.
Momo Sushi Shack curated local Brooklyn fare including Northern Territory, Du’s Donuts teamed with some L.E.S. support including Byggyz sandwiches and Oka bringing bites to be paired with sake from Mutual Trading, World Sake Imports, Joto, Skurnik and Soto portfolios.
Whilst sipping on a cup of sake, we are pleased to announce that music by Nina Sky, Soni with an Eye and DJ Rok One will be provided by those amazing artists.
The event will be hosted at Brooklyn Brewery on Nov. 20 from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and all proceeds will be donated to Foundation Comunitara de Puerto Rico. One beer token will be included with the price of the ticket. Unlimted sake is available to sip with the small bites provided by the restaurants. Come dance and eat for a great cause. Be a part of the solution and help the residents of Puerto Rico recover from this devastating event.
