NYC: Joy of Sake Aftertaste: “Celebrating with Sake”

jos_aftertaste.jpgJoy of Sake Aftertaste:
Celebrating with sake

Sake has played an important role in Japanese myth and ceremony since the dawn of history. This evening’s tasting features 39 junmai, ginjo and daiginjo sakes, arranged by festival theme:

Cherry Blossom Season—gay, festive, fun to drink
Setsubun (Spring Festival)—scares the demons away
New Year’s—joyous, resplendent daiginjo labels
Tanabata (Milky Way Festival)—sends us to the stars

The evening begins with a short talk, followed by a sampling of the evening’s sake selections. Appetizers appear at 7:00, ushering in a congenial hour of sake sipping until 8:00 p.m.
